Product Description:

Methylene Chloride is a kind of colorless, transparent liquid, CAS number 75-09-2, formula CH2Cl2.

Solvent is the main use of dichloromethane. Dichloromethane has high solubility, low boiling point, relatively low toxicity and relatively best reaction inertness, making it the most frequently used organic solvent in organic synthesis. Its status as a solvent is almost equivalent to that of water in inorganic salt chemistry. A large amount of it is used in the manufacture of safety film film, polycarbonate, and the rest is used as paint solvent, metal degreaser, aerosol spray agent, polyurethane blowing agent, release agent, paint stripper.

Product Application:

Dichloromethane can be separated by dibutyl phthalate (DBP), then detected by GC using TCD, and quantified by comparison with the standard dichloromethane. Reagents: carrier gas, helium (>99.5%); carrier is white diatomaceous earth 6201 (40~60 mesh) or equivalent; stationary phase, DBP (in ether); standard sample, chromatographically pure methylene chloride; instrument, Gas chromatograph with TCD; column, 3m×3~4mm (inner diameter) stainless steel column. Conditions: Stationary phase, 20%: DBP/6021 vaporization temperature, 100°C; detection temperature, 100°C; carrier gas flow, 70ml/min, column temperature 70°C; TCD bridge current, 200mA~injection volume, <20μl . Residence time (R) of other chlorinated Solvents related to methylene chloride: methyl chloride 0.15; ethane chloride 0.34; 1,1-dichloroethylene 0.59; propylene chloride 0.85; carbon tetrachloride 1.86; chloroform 2.47. Colorless, transparent and volatile liquid. Has a pungent ether-like odor. Soluble in water about 50 times, soluble in phenol, aldehyde, ketone, Glacial Acetic Acid, triethyl phosphate, ethyl acetoacetate, cyclohexylamine. Miscible with other chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents such as ethanol, diethyl ether and N, N-dimethylformamide.
